After a few years now of website development, the time has come that we finally can give something back to the community.
Nowadays we develop most of our websites with WordPress that over the years has grown from traditional blogging software into a full-blown professional CMS platform, with endless possibilities.
The community around WordPress – on forums and special interest groups such as LinkedIn and Facebook – is amazing and a great source of information and support. Most of this support is given free of charge in people’s free time and is of course much appreciated by everyone.
We have sort of grown with WordPress and have learned many things that before we didn’t even know were possible. In the beginning we merely adapted themes to what we wanted, but more and more we are starting to build themes exclusively for one client. The advantage of doing that is of course that you can rip out all the stuff that is not needed for that particular client. The immediate disadvantage is that you can never use that theme for anything else, because it certainly misses key elements to be called a WordPress theme.
The other day however, we were putting up a provisional website for a client and with a bit of playing around with the theme, we figured that with a few adaptions, we could easily release this theme and with that finally give back to the WordPress community!
Therefore we have set up the website “WordPress Themes by Senlin Online” as an extension to the regular website development website of Senlin Online. Although at the time of writing we have only released one theme, we expect to release more in the future, hence the plural “themes”.
