The theme is especially suitable for people who only every now and then upload images to their posts. On the homepage it shows excerpts of all posts and you will see that whether there is an image or not, the excerpt still looks good.

And because the use of custom fields for showing images on home pages is on its return already, we have hard-coded the image grabbing and thumbnail publishing into the theme.

The reason that we have called this WordPress theme WineBlog is because we developed it as a wine blog, the header picture is of a vineyard and we have integrated a widget of Adegga.com in the sidebar.

Installing

Installing the WineBlog WordPress theme is the same as installing any other theme.

• Unzip the downloaded file
• Just (S)FTP the entire theme directory to wp-content/themes/
• Activate the theme under Appearance –> Themes in your Dashboard

Use

Before you can take this WordPress theme for a spin, there are a couple of things you need to do, which we have all explained in detail in the readme.txt file that is included in the zip-file. It is best when you’re comfortable editing the theme template files in your favorite text editor or with the built-in theme editor.
Also make sure that you install the following plugins, not included in the zipped theme files:

• Contact Form 7
• WP Page Navi
• WP Post Views

The Launchpad WordPress theme immediately came to mind, but we wanted a little bit more than just a link to FeedBurner.

After we put together this provisional website, we kept playing around with it for a while and all of a sudden a new WordPress theme was born!

We added a sleek Theme Settings Page where you can adjust almost all colors, the width of the theme and add your FeedBurner feed details.

Installing

Installing the ComingSoon WordPress theme is easy. We assume here that you are starting with a fresh WordPress install.

• Unzip the downloaded file
• Just (S)FTP the theme directory to wp-content/themes/
• Activate the theme
• Under Appearance you will see an additional menu-item called “ComingSoon Settings”, here you can adjust a couple of settings: (wrapper width, text color, link color, border settings, wrapper background as well as your FeedBurner address)

Use

• Set your website’s name in General Options, the Description, for example “Under Construction” will be shown in the <title>
• Install the latest Contact Form 7 plugin; we recommend using this plugin as as we added some coding in the CSS that only works for the first form of Contact Form 7
• Change the Hello World Post into your own content
• Change the About Page to the Contact Page
• If you find that the ComingSoon Settings area doesn’t have enough styling-options, you can of course always have a go at the CSS.
